George Samuel Crittendon

George Samuel was born on October 4, 1943 in Doak Springs, Texas to Samuel and Jewel F. Crittendon. He graduated from Lincoln High School in La Marque, Texas in 1961. He attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he majored in Chemistry and graduated in 1965.

After graduation he began his career at the Manned Spacecraft Center that became known as NASA in Clear Lake. He lived in multiple locations including Washington D.C. for his job as an aerospace chemist before returning home and eventually retiring.

George was a devout Christian, minister and evangelist. He never saw a man he wasn’t willing to help by providing counsel, food and shelter.

George never married but had many sons in the ministry. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel L. Crittendon, brother, Alonzo Crittendon, Sr. and sister-in-law Sandra Crittendon.

George leaves his mother, Jewel F. Crittendon, sister and brother-in-law Sophia (Frederick) Lamb, Jr. Nieces and nephews Jewel (Jeff)Daniels, Donna Strange, Daral (Derrick) Edwards, Hermina Hogues, Alonzo (Teresa) Crittendon, Rachael Wilson, Teryana Lamb and grandson in the spirit, Roy Smith along with numerous great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Thanks to Ms. Emma Reed and the staff at All Across America Home Health Care Services and Dr. Jerry Estep and Barbara Elias at the Methodist Hospital.

Visitation will be on Friday, Ocotober 12, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Homegoing Service will be on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00am. Both services will be held at Mainland Funeral Home, 2711 Texas Avenue, La Marque, Texas. Apostle Shirley Fontenot of To God Be The Glory Outreach Ministries, Officiating. Interment: Copperas Cemetery in Lincoln, Texas will be on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 12:00pm.
