Albert Anderson Sr.

On March 15, 1935 in Plantersville, Texas, a son was born to Robert Anderson and Mattie Harris Anderson. They named their handsome son, Albert Anderson.

At an early age, he attended Rose Hill Baptist Church in Plantersville. In his early years, the family moved to Galveston, Texas. There he began his work experience. He was employed at Todd Shipyard, retired from W. A. Kelso where he worked 20 years in Maintenance and as a Truck Driver. He later relocated to Houston, Texas and worked for Eastway Hot Shot Delivery for 3 years.

Albertís favorite activity was playing pool, which he did very well. In later years his health started failing from Alzheimerís and Parkinson.

On March 25, 2012, Albert passed from this earthly life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Harris and father, Robert Anderson; his grandparents; a grandson, Milton Anderson, a brother, A. C. Byrd, sisters, Jean White (Tom) and Helen Paldo and nieces, Linda Woods and Debra Paldo, a nephew, Derrick McShan.

He leaves to cherish memories of his life: his devoted wife, LaVerne Anderson, of 37 years, of Houston, Texas; son, Albert Anderson, Jr. of Montgomery, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Collins and husband, Willie of Navasota, Texas; step-son, Anthony Charles and wife, Ethel of Mississippi; five grandchildren, Erma Jean Anderson of Houston, Texas, Wendy Anderson of Navasota, Texas, Tia Anderson of Houston, Texas, Damonte Anderson of Montgomery and Antwanette Charles of Mississippi, nine great-grandchildren, Lartque Ausby, Damion Anderson, Latecia Oaks, Troynisha Love, Henry Love, Tahlaria Scott, Tiandrea Forderson, Tacazia Hightower and Keenyata Buckley; three great-great-grandchildren, Davigah Key, Dezontrae Scott and Dajianae Hatchett; thirty-eight nieces, fifty nephews; three sisters-in-law, Hannah Brown and husband, Paul of Webster, Texas, Barbara Palmore and, Doris Young both of Texas City, Texas; two goddaughters, Stephanie Mann of Houston, Texas and Patsy Jones of Dallas, Texas; a devoted care giver, Lola Loud of Houston, Texas; other family members and friends.
